wiggle

Charli does this cute new thing! See it here! You can also listen to her make some not so cute noises at the same time... That's me and Maria laughing in the background.

Speaking of which, Maria, our nanny, started today. She has been here a couple of times before, but only for a few hours at a time. Today she spent all day, and our share care buddy, Jillian, came over for the first time also. She was so cute. She is 2, and she went and dug through all her old toys for her favorite monkey toy that she liked when she was little, and brought it over to share with Charli. They all had a great time - went to the park, played here, wore themselves out...

I had a great time too, although I was a little depressed when they went to the park and I stayed at home. I was having a lovely time doing things without being interrupted, but having Charli go out the door without me wasn't very good. And then, the weirdest thing - I was in the house... by myself. It used to happen all the time, but that seems so long ago... It was so quiet, and lonely, and boring. Before I could re-accustom myself to it, I went out for a nice lunch by myself at which I didn't have to worry whether or not the baby would wake up and start screaming. Later that afternoon, I got my hair cut! I was so excited; I haven't had a haircut in 8 or 9 months. It was so relaxing, I was falling asleep in the chair.

Yesterday we spent almost the entire day at Alexis's apartment. She has a daughter, Lucia, who is about 7 weeks older than Charli. She lives about 2 blocks away, so we hang out quite a bit. Charli spent much of the day eating Lucia's toys. We are going to start trading dinner nights - she is coming over tomorrow night after Charli goes to bed so we can go out to dinner, and then I will go over to their place after Lucia goes to bed, I think on Sunday, so they can go out. I hope we can do this once a week.

I have never seen a baby wiggle quite like that...funny! I'm sure the squeal is even better in person!

Please explain "share care" to me. Are you sharing the nanny with another family?? I had a friend who did that, so the nanny worked full time, but part time for 2 familes.

Congratulations on seperating from the child and going out to do "grown-up" things...all by yourself! I often find the seperation anxiety comes not from the child, but from the mother! Don't worry-you will BOTH be fine.

Well, it's official...baseball season is here! Katy and John had tickets to last night's game (the rescheduled rain-out of opening day) and each brought a friend. Unfortunately, they lost. Tonight I am taking all 3 kids. GO CARDINALS!!! (I hope I don't but any Cardinals apparel for Charli at the ballpark, but I might not be able to help myself!! I know she NEEDS Cardinals outfits, bows, socks, hats. etc...)

You know, I think I did melt when I saw the wiggle video just like Maria said. I was going to comment earlier, but I spent so much time looking at the video I ran out of time to comment. Then work was crazy, so I still could not comment.

All I had to say was I love the video, and the creative things you are doing to reenter society post Charli. I love all your ideas; share care, alternate baby sitting and dinner out; lunch out alone with appropriate pampering.

Thanks for all the videos, pictures and involvement.

oh my gosh-- I just watched the "wiggle video"!!! Can that baby girl POSSIBLY get any sweeter? I do believe she knows how to work the crowd though. What do you think? Sounds like things are progressing out there and you are working into a good routine. I think everyone involved is going to thrive and be well taken of. It does take a while to work into a new routine with a new baby and have everyone's needs provided for. So once again--good job.
All is good here--we had a bright sunny day today. But unforutnately more rain tomorrow. March this year was the rainiest March since they started keeping records in the 1800's. We are even having some mud slides over in Grafton, Illinois by the Mississippi bluffs. Gee-- Just like California!!!! Well I am going to watch the Cardinals game- hopefully the result will be better than last night. Take care. Hugs for all-especially the "wiggler". Mambaw Lawler

We just watch that wiggly Charli again and again and again. Worse, we make everyone who comes over watch it, too. Just can't stop...

Ok Kor -- it's official -- your daughter is just too cute! That wiggle is adorable!

As for the separation anxiety thing -- um, it gets easier. Really. Truly. In fact, (sooner than you think) at some point you will gladly leave your darling with someone else (husbands included in the "someone else" category) and giggle gleefully as you make your escape for some adult time. Of course, you will come back and spend inordinate amounts of time playing with your child to make up for your glee at the idea of leaving -- but hey, those few hours of freedom are a heady thing! (we won't even talk about the time when you get to go off by yourself for more than a few hours -- a whole different kind of guilt/pleasure rush)

Hugs to everyone!
