chicken
At Charli's 6 month checkup, the pediatrician said I could start introducing meats into her diet. So on Sunday, I cooked up a chicken recipe in this baby food book I got - it's got chicken, onions, sweet potatoes, and apples, in homemade chicken stock with no salt. I think it tastes pretty good, although the texture leaves a little something to be desired. This may be a good thing, because if things continue on as they have been the past 2 nights, I will be eating most of it. As far as I can tell, Charli HATES CHICKEN.
She hasn't barfed it back up, so maybe she doesn't hate it as much as she hated cauliflower and potatoes, but she sure won't eat much of it. This is unfortunate, because although I only made one recipe in case she didn't like it, and the recipe said it only made 4 servings for a 7 - 9 month old, it ended up being like 20 or 22 ounces. I have a TON. 4 servings my eye - maybe for a 20 pound 9 month old who eats chicken enthusiastically. It's about 90 servings for Charli. :(

maybe you should just try it plain.
Ok, you cooking -- I'm still trying to wrap my brain around that one. Then again -- I eat sushi now so, not so strange :0).
As for the meats thing -- try some of the prepared baby food jars as tests. Honestly? Most of them are kind of gross and some of the flavors that they like now, they will HATE later. Q LOVED beef and broccoli in baby food and HATED chicken. Guess which one is one of the few (and I do mean very few) meats she will now eat and which one she won't touch with a 10 ft. pole?
I was just sitting here in my chair, looking at Charli's pictures, I have the waving picture as my background, and I realized that we would be seeing Charli in real life this time next week. You better get her ready. The training up will continue next Friday. We are looking forward to seeing all of you then.
Oh, we're ready for you. Charli was just today seeming like she needed a little bit of training...
maybe Charli's a vegetarian?
mom says she won't love charli any more if she's a vegetarian, but i find that highly unlikely. she says she can't be part of the family if she doesn't eat meat. i say charli is clearly already conscious of how much more energy it takes to make meat than vegies, and she's trying to save the world already at only 6 months! dad says you should try mixing the chicken with poi...
mom said there was something that could happen that would make her not love Charli anymore? that's it. she is not invited to our house anymore. what, she thinks just because she walked 8 miles for cancer she can just say anything she likes now? :)
maybe she's just worried that she won't be able to properly show her love for charli if she can't fix her all of the fabulous meaty meals we all know and love. although for my graduation party, she did revamp the chicken curry recipe into fabulous veggie curry, because all my vegetarian friends were coming! i was so proud of her. ^_^
