happy easter

Happy Easter everyone! It's Charli's first Easter, and she spent the entire day in her pajamas. This is not to say that we didn't do anything - we did lots of things; we just did them with Charli in her pajamas. It's so great to be a baby.

Travelling backwards in tiiiiiiime...

Today we went to a lovely breakfast with Jason and Tracey and Charli at the table, then we to Jason and Tracy's house to see how it was coming along. They have found a new contractor who is actually doing the remodel, rather than the one they initially hired who basically swindled them out of a pile of money. The house looks great - roof on, recessed lighting in, lots of cabling... Charli inspected the blueprints, and they look alright to her.

Yesterday we went up to Santa Rosa to drop Mom and Dad off for the drive home. Mom's visit was not long enough to satisfy the Charli addiction, so she was weeping as they drove off. They also accidentally left us some of their farmer's market loot that they meant to eat on the drive home - oops! We are making good use of it. :) While we were in Santa Rosa, Georgia took some molds of Charli's hands and feet, and she is going to try to make us some casts of Charli's 4-month old extremities. Charli was not too sure what to make of this process, but I'm excited to see how it turns out. She was wiggly, so the molds might not have set right, but it would be cool if they did.

Friday we went to Pacifica with Mom and Dad to see how it might be to, say, live there. Apparently a long time ago (before we knew what we were talking about), we told Mom and Dad that they could live there when they came out to California, because it was cheaper than living in the city. Now (when we know more about what we're talking about), we can't believe we ever said that, but we went to go look anyway. As expected, it IS cheaper than buying in SF, but not significantly so. It was a fun trip, though - I had no idea how close Pacifica actually is. It takes about 20 minutes to drive there, and it's a cute little seaside town that extends for several miles down the coast, with each mile approximately kind of being it's own little neighborhood. We looked at a few of the neighborhoods, watched some people go crab fishing, picked up some real estate info just to taunt ourselves, and had some coffee. Charli, as she always does when near the ocean, slept the entire time (I think this was left over from the shots). Then we found the Segway store! How cool! We all tried them out, and it turns out they do tours in Golden Gate Park. Now I want to go on one (maybe we can check it out while Brian's family is here), although I am not sure whether or not they would let us go with a baby. They're so fun! They resemble the new stroller...

Also, I forgot to mention it before, but there are new pictures on the website.

And here's something exciting to sign off:

That was wonderful...I loved the video, and to think, I made that applesauce for Charli. Sounds like your Easter was eventful...in spite of being lazy and not changing Charli's clothes...you'd think there was a shortage of outfits! gma

I'm with gma Yang-I loved the applesauce video! It is so cute to watch a baby try and get used to using a spoon. Thanks for all the news-sounds like you had a good Easter. Can you believe we had some snow and sleet? Not much, but nonetheless it was a raw chilly day. Fortunately, today is bright and sunny since I had to go up to Alton and take mom to get her income tax done. I did read the stroller saga. Whew!!-It made me tired just reading it. It was a hard task, but it seem you found what you wanted, and even more important--Charli is riding in style. Their are just TOO many choices for me today--I am easily in to overload. Again, thank you for all the news and the beautiful pictures. They mean a lot, and we truly appreciate them. Hugs to all, mambaw

Let me get this straight...you spent $900 on a stroller and you can't go spend $1 on a baby spoon? I am definitely bringing the poor child a spoon that will fit into her mouth! And does the "poor little thing" need some clothes too???

Cute video...I guess that will be the first of MANY.

Easter at the beach was good. We went to 11:00 Mass...St. Thomas by the Sea...sounds lovely, doesn't it? It was so crowded!! Standing room only. Seems every Catholic on the Gulf Coast had converged on 11:00 Mass! At first, we were stuck out in a hallway and we couldn't hear anything. (They were selling St. Thomas T-shirts for $10 and cookbooks.) I thought we might blow it off entirely, until I found this little adoraton chapel on the side of the church that nobody seemed to find. I assured the kids we could stay until the end of Mass. They were delighted!!

After Mass, we went to the Super Wal Mart...to take on some additional supplies for our teenage brood. (Peter, Katy & friend Josie, John & friend Andrew Ceriotti.)

By the time we got home, unloaded and put away the groceries, it was well into the afternoon. Sunny, 70's and very nice. We did make it to the pool and ocean for a bit.

We had the Lawler traditional Easter dinner...ham, broccoli-rice and fresh fruit salad. EVERYONE was happy-that was the goal.

Today was cooler than Easter, but still better than home! I think everyone is having a great time.

So Charli likes apples. That means peanut butter is the next step! Pretty soon we'll be on the exact same diet - apples and peanut butter for every meal. (With the occasional fabulous meal at Mom's...) Then she can come and live with me!

Easter was great! I spent Sunday morning at the Willet's property in WY with Dave, Sally, and Julie. Julie and I built a totally unsuccessful snow cave, ate lots of trail mix, and jumping off 11 foot snow drifts. Very exciting.

For dinner, Kim and Brent made FABULOUS ham and roasty portabella mushroom, bell pepper, goat cheese, tomato sauce, spinachy things. The Willets came over and brought an awesome cheese and roasted pear salad! Everything was great and we played Apples to Apples after dinner... Well, all of us except Dad who only likes family time when it's at the Pawnee Nat'l Grasslands, and not when it's actually fun.

Wish you all could have been there!

I see great things in the future for Charli. She will have to decide between architect and movie star. You better keep a close watch on those molds. They could be your retirement. And the best part.... she will always have a cool ride. What a life!!
