Such a strange day. Everything was normal until it was almost time to go pick my mother up from the airport, around 2:30 - when Brian came home. What in the world was Brian doing coming home at 2:30? I didn't tell him he needed to come to the airport with me... Turns out he was feeling sick, and came home to go to bed. So he did.

We got my mother and came home and sat around for a while, and then the power went out. Ugh. It was out for hours. It got dark and we had to do everything by tealight candle or a little penlight. Charli had a candlelit dinner! She was fascinated by the candles, but I was pretty bored. No internet! What did people do after dark before there was electricity?!
Just as I was about to start looking around for some more substantial candles, the power came back on. Brian also woke up. Mom said she'd watch the baby, so Brian and I actually went out for a nice dinner. We had a lovely meal at Spork, where we didn't have to jiggle the baby carriage and we didn't have to wonder whether or not we'd be able to have dessert. That might have been the strangest thing all day!

A couple more firsts:
1) Charli pulled MY hair this morning.
2) She wore a dress! It's really cute, but it does ride up. Onesies seem to be the most practical way to go.

Want to hear something else strange??? I came home from work early on Wednesdsay not feeling great and took a little nap as well! Weird. John has been home sick the past few days as well...some sort of flu thing that is kicking his butt. Everytime he thinks he is feeling better, he has a little bit to eat or drink, then blahh---not better yet!! He is on day #3. I don't feel nearly that bad. I am not allowed to-I'm the Mom! I have too much stuff to do.
Cute dress...but you are right-not completely practical. Dresses seem to work out better when babies can actually hold themselves up a bit. I guess gravity comes into play and the dress is not bunched up around your armpits all the time. But, they are really hard to crawl in...oh what to do. The things we girls have to go through just to look cute...I hope all of the men out there can begin to appreciate this life-long struggle! It's not easy, you know!
Happy Valentine's Day!!!
LOVE to all!
Did anyone ever tell you that Charli is the most beautiful child in the world? I surf the internet from time to time and enjoy so much your blog.
God really smiled on your family by bringing such a beautiful little girl into your lives. My prayers are with you all as you watch her grow up and be a channel of great joy to all!
Thanks for the lovely comment! I wish I knew who wrote that...
it HAS to be one of our nun friends...Max or Madeleine.
You never know who I am! Maybe a special angel, looking out for your little girl. I'll visit your blog again sometime soon, after I continue surfing the other outer reaches of cyber space!
You are a special family!
And the worst thing; there was a DAFLINK outage. I reported it this morning, and service was restored very quickly. I need my Charli fix, you know.
Cute dress but there could be some Osh-Kosh overalls coming in the near future. They have an outlet store in Hilton Head, and it is hard to leave them on the rack.
It's Madeleine!!!
:-)
it's just ridiculous how cute she is! was that dress her valentines day outfit? how does it feel to have 4 generations of yang family females all under the same roof? is brian holding up ok, or is he getting worn out from eating, then driving around carloads of sleeping yangs, the eating, then driving around carloads of sleeping yangs...?
Brian has been completely slacking on the driving front - he hasn't driven a single yang around since we went to pick Grandma up from the airport. And Fong females feed themselves - and everyone else around them. We have been living off the bounty. :)
